Emergency information

At Balcombe Road Dental, we know dental emergencies can be extremely uncomfortable and upsetting. That is why we have a dedicated emergency treatment room for that toothache that has been keeping you awake all night or that tooth you knocked out during a game of footy. When you call us, we will always endeavour to accommodate your needs as soon as possible preferably on the same day (Call Out fee for public holiday/weekend apply).

What can I expect at an appointment?

When you arrive at the Balcombe Road Dental, the staff will greet you and seat you at the waiting room, new patients will need to fill out a medical history form. We will examine you as quick as possible – average waiting time is 15 minutes.

Do you have ONLINE BOOKING?

Yes! We have online Bookings so you can book anytime you want to. Even at 3am in the morning if you like! ;p

What happens if I am a new patient?

You may have referred yourself, have been referred by a friend or family member. We will discuss your problem and ask about your dental history. A thorough examination will then follow. We may request examinations and X-rays to assist and support our diagnosis.

Otherwise, depending on the results of your examinations, the nature of the dental problem, we will create tailor made dental treatment plan for you. If follow-up consultation or further consultations are required, we will indicate this and the staff will let you know the date and time of your next appointment.

Do you have Imaging - x-rays facilities?

Yes, we have state of the art digital Dental X-rays which are more beneficial then your traditional X-rays.

Digital X-rays have less radiation, are faster and better for the environment than traditional X-rays.

Do you see children at your clinic?

We love having visits from kids! It’s a good time to visit when your child has their first tooth or when they reach 12 months of age, positive dental visit will help make the dental clinic a fun place. We have also have a Children’s Play area!

Did you know there is Free Check Ups and Cleans for eligible Children between ages of 2 and 17 through Medicare – Child Dental Benefit Schedule- capped at $1000 over two years. Ring us to find out if you are eligible. 03 9583 1015

What happens if I need an injection?

Certain cases require injections, the team at Balcombe Road dental are very gentle and we always put numbing gel on your gums before any injection.

What if I need Anesthetic?

We can undertake procedures in our dental clinic using local anaesthesia.

What happens if I need a prescription?

We may prescribe medications for your condition. Please let us know in case you have any allergy or other dental condition.

If you have already been taking drugs prescribed by your home doctor, please bring them with you for clarification or possible drug interactions and correlations with the new condition.

Insurance and Billing

Do you accept my insurance? Yes we DO!

For the convenience of our patients Balcombe Road Dental provides on-the-spot HICAPS claims for ALL health funds and we accept EFTPOS, mastercard, visa, amex and debit cards. We are also prefered providers for HCF and NIB.

Do you accept Victorian Dental Scheme voucher? VEDS, VGDS or VDS?

Yes, at Balcombe Road Dental we do accept the Victorian Dental Scheme Voucher as we will endeavour to assist our bayside community the best we can!

The Victorian Emergency Dental Scheme (VEDS) is designed to assist Community Dental Clinic to cope with peaks in demand for emergency care. The Victorian General Dental Scheme (VGDS) may be offered to patients on public General waiting lists, particularly where Community Dental Clinics do not have the capacity to provide in-house care, or where additional funding is available. The Victorian Denture Scheme (VDS) is designed to facilitate greater numbers of patients receiving dentures. The provision of emergency, general, and denture services by the private sector, will assist CDAs to cope with demand for such services. Do you Bulk Bill for Medicare Child Dental Benefits Schedule CDBS?

Yes we do!

Our team at Balcombe Road Dental are family oriented, we understand that having good dental health directly relates to a child’s growth and development. We love having visits from kids! Do accept Department of Veteran Affairs' patients -DVA?

Yes we do!

We accept DVA patients.

What if I am Unable to Attend my appointment?

If you are not able to come to your appointment please let us know 48 -24 hours before hand or as soon as you can.  This allows us to cancel your appointment and offer it to another patient.

Patient who regularly cancel last minute may incur a cancellation fee.

What are your Work hours? Do you work on Saturdays?

currently we are not open on Saturdays

Monday- Friday:         9:00am – 6:00pm

What is your Cancellation Policy?

We are a small family orientated clinic who aim to provide the best quality dental care at an affordable price. We aim to be respectful of our patient’s time thus we ask patients to be respectful of our appointment times. Failure to attend, late arrivals (more than 15min) and short notice cancellations disrupts other patients and staff.

We know life happens and that sometimes we have to cancel appointments. If you need to Cancel or Reschedule your appointment, we kindly ask that you give us 24-hour notice so we have time to schedule other emergency patients.

If less than 24 hours is given a cancellation fee of $60 will be applied.

Long appointments such as crown/bridge, zoom whitening will require a deposit at the time of booking.
